Description

IC342, also knowen as the "Hidden Galaxy" is an intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellation Camelopardalis.
At a Magnitude of around 9 it is much dimmer than M33 and M31, due to dust between its location and us, hence the name.
For this rendition I used the Ha data (Ha-red) in the R and lum channel. I tried a version without the Ha in the lum, which led to a nice result but the lack of detail in the Ha regions bothered me.
I think it is very hard to tell in the .jpg version but there is quite an amount of dust visible in the .fits version (and on a good screen ;-) ).
In the bottom left you can see the glow of dust beeing illuminated by HIP 18067 (mag 6,3) just outside the image.
